Example data sets
These ape surveys were conducted in the Gamba Complex, Gabon:
GA_GAMB_1998_07_12_WCS_WWF
GA_MOUK_2004_04_17_MPIEVA_WWF
The title of the data sets includes information about the country
where the survey was conducted (the first two letters for Gabon),
the specific site surveyed (the following four letters for Gamba and
Moukalaba), the starting date of the survey (year_month_day), and the
organization/institution/ individual that conducted the survey
(WCS=Wildlife Conservation Society, WWF=World Wildlife Fund
for Nature, MPIEVA=Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology).
If you need more information about a particular data set please contact the MPI EVA.
Detailed information about the data sets are available on request at the MPI EVA

In order to be able to explore the
database via the interactive map your browser must support the SVG
(Scalable Vector Graphics) standard and Javascript must be enabled.
SVG is fully supported by
Firefox 2+,
SeaMonkey 1.1+ and
Opera 9+ web browsers.
If you use Internet Explorer, then you will need an SVG viewer plugin such as the one
from Adobe.
Currently there is no suitable SVG support for the Safari browser.
Note: A Web Map Service (WMS) is included in the
application. A WMS produces an image (eg. from a satellite) of
geospatial data without having the dataset available locally - online,
through
selected WMS Servers.
Please consider that the transferred amount of data can be up to 200
kB! We would therefore recommend that you use this feature only if you
have a highspeed internet connection. If you see a blank image instead
of the satellite image, the server could be temporary down. Please
retry later.
