Survey Data Entry
Help us to update the database
As both a historical and up-to-date resource, the success of the A.P.E.S. database is dependent on the contribution of original data sets from ape surveys conducted both recently and in the past. If you have conducted ape surveys and would like to contribute these data to the A.P.E.S. database, we would like to ask you to provide some information on the next few pages.
By clicking on Contribute a new survey you will first be asked to review and accept the terms outlined in the A.P.E.S. database policy. You will then proceed to data uploading through an interactive web interface which has detailed instructions for each step of the process. After successfully uploading your data set, you will receive a confirmation email. We will then contact you to fill out and sign the A.P.E.S. deposit form. Only after you have signed this form we will proceed to load your data into the database.
Once your data have been successfully uploaded, the interactive map will be immediately updated to show the location of your ape surveys. After the data set has been reviewed by the Data Review Working Group, the data will be permanently archived in the A.P.E.S. database. The interactive map will then be updated with a polygon depicting your survey design.
